The thing is that if you are a gadget fan you most likely have an old tablet hanging around your house, it may even be the first generation iPad which is so old it can only run an antique version of iOS which means you cannot find any useful app for it.
That why we have started WhizScreen, it is designed to support all those old devices including the 1st gen iPad.
However we don’t target only old devices, Amazon with their Fire tablets family is a great example of an “entry level” tablet that can be used as a dedicated, always on, screen. At the price of a simple motion sensor you can get yourself a tablet that can be used as a great WhizScreen. By the way, a quick visit to Costco will reveal other attractively priced tablets you may want to use as your WhizScreen.
To support as many devices as we can we have released our app to 3 app stores:
- The Apple app store – dedicated for iPads
- The Amazon App Store – for the Fire tablets (and Fire TV)
- The Google Play Store – for Google tablets
However with all the advances in mobile technologies, it is almost impossible to develop an app that will support all the old iOS versions. As such we have decided to provide a Web version of our app that supports the 1st gen iPad and other devices that cannot run our app. Visit http://app.whizscreen.com from your device’s web browser and enjoy the same experience as when using the app. If you use the web app with your iPad 1st generation, make sure to save the web page to your home screen, this will provide you with a full screen experience.
